Another annual event I look forward to every year is catching a Miami Redhawks football game with a group of my buddies.  For past 3 years, we’ve always gone to a popular German bar on campus prior to kickoff to enjoy a couple beers in traditional steins and their well known soft pretzels.   This year we decided to change it up a little and actually do some serious tailgating at the fields outside the football stadium.  We brought the grill, corn hole sets, a Heineken mini keg, the whole nine yards…Miami was playing Bowling Green, one would think that the in-state rival game would draw a significant crowd for some tailgating action.  I mean, what college doesn’t tailgate during football season?

Well, to our surprise we were completely shocked and deflated when we drove onto the tailgating area right outside the stadium (after paying $10 bucks to a couple of ROTC students dressed in fatigues) to find out that we were not only the FIRST ones to show up for some tailgating….but the ONLY ones to tailgate!  To all Miami students, you should all be ashamed of yourselves…where’s the love of the game?
